I came across Charley Peters on instagram and i was so excited by his paper sculptures. They felt so much freer than what i was making, i felt to hemmed in to make something that directly related back to an object. His forms are so simple, just coloured folded paper and an aluminuim rod. He calls these sketches, but they feel nothing like a sketch. I’m not completely sure what he’s trying to achieve, but i feel as though i can relate to the idea turning a ‘sketch’ into a 3D form. I really enjoy the interaction between colour and how he’s manipulated the paper into an object. I want to take a step back with what i’m making at the moment and play more with a more basic colouring and form.
