Hanging and folding.

Inspired by the paper garland i bought in amsterdam i immediately set about making my own to better understand them in the context of my work. I made a simple cut out square and allowed it to fall naturally. I wasn’t sure if i liked the outcome of it or not, it didn’t feel as though it fitted in with the rest of the shapes i had created, where there was a common ground, this seemed to me to stand out a lot more and i don’t think it was for the right reasons. I also played around with a simple concentina shape as i thought the folds would allow me to explore length and shape of an object a bit more. I liked the result of the concentina, i thought it gave some freedom with changing the shape of the overall object on the wall/coming off of the wall.
